Constantly Letting Go

Constantly Letting Go

Title: Constantly Letting Go

School: Bukit Batok Secondary School

Student Artist: Natalie Ng Jing Yi (3A2)

Artist Statement: The artwork depicts how our medley of emotions are bottled up and endlessly rotating to let go of the negativity within. The dark butterflies flying out of the face symbolise our negative thoughts while the mushrooms symbolise growth and moving on, depicting an intertwining of positivity and negativity as the cute looking magic frog with a strawberry hat waits patiently to feast on the butterflies, thus eliminating our negative thoughts as life moves on. The frog holds on to the tube with a viewing eyehole at one end which, like a kaleidoscope, allows us to see the bits of our emotions that are enclosed within. Beautiful, yet together, reflective.
